Born February 10, in Chicago IL, Kendra, the product of a musical family, realized her prodigious gift of singing at the tender age of 10 when she began singing in the church choir. It was one fateful day when she sang a soul-stirring rendition of “I love you Jesus” that it became evident to not only herself but to family and friends alike that this “Diva” was destined to perform. And that she has done. She left an indelible mark as a performer in many talent shows and events during her teenage years. Kendra moved to the Twin Cities in the early 90’s and has definitely made herself a household name on the entertainment scene. She performed lead vocals with the Maxx Band(the Twin cities 70’s and 80’s Funk Band) for 6 years and has performed with several other notable bands, including the R factory(formerly Rupert’s orchestra), Jam Factory, Love Train, Dan Kusz Jazz Band, International Reggae All stars, Les Exodus, Westside, The George Scott Trio, and with the incomparable Ray Covington. In addition, Kendra has done performances for the Vic Volare Variety Show, June-teenth, and Rono Days. Kendra’s most notable collaborations has been with the likes of Tommy Barbarello and Sonny Thompson (former Key and Bass players for Prince and The Revolution), and with Sheila Raye Charles as a backup singer. Kendra has definitely been a lightening rod on the Twin Cities entertainment circuit, performing Regularly at the Mystic Lake Casino, Famous Dave’s, U of M sporting events, amateur boxing matches, and a myriad of other events. She was recently crowned the winner of the “Battle of the bands” contest at Famous Dave’s. While Kendra has garnered many rave reviews and accolades from her many performances, her most noteworthy achievements to date has been the success of her “Aretha Franklin Tribute” events. Kendra’s soulful and moving renditions has even earned her comparisons to that of the Queen of Soul herself , a compliment that Kendra accepts with great pride and honor. Kendra has plans to come out with her own CD in early 2011 but her ultimate goal is to become a national recording artist.With a voice as beautiful as hers it is an understatement to say that the world is definitely in for a treat. She is definitely on the road to stardom and success so world take notice!!!
